Cydnabyddiaeth i Bartneriaeth Gymunedol am waith STEM

Mae ein partneriaeth arloesol gyda’r Dreigiau RFC i ymgysylltu ag ysgolion ar draws Gwent wedi cyrraedd rhestr fer Gwobrau STEM Cymru 2025, yn ein blwyddyn gyntaf o ddarpariaeth.
Ers mis Ebrill, mae’r rhaglen wedi ymgysylltu’n llwyddiannus â dros 600 disgybl ar draws 13 o ysgolion, gan ddarparu addysg STEM effeithiol sydd eisoes yn gwneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol, drwy weithdeithog.
Mae’r rhaglen yn dal diddordeb pobl ifanc yn niwydiannau’r dyfodol gan ddefnyddio chwaraeon i gymell y gynulleidfa hon.
Mae Llywodraeth y DU wedi nodi lled-ddargludyddion fel un o bum technoleg hanfodol yn ei Fframwaith Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg 2023. Mae Llywodraethau’r DU a Chymru’n canolbwyntio ar gynyddu’r gweithlu lled-ddargludyddion o 3,000 i 6,000 o unigolion medrus.
Dywedodd Angharad Kibble, sy’n rhedeg y rhaglen ar gyfer Dreigiau RFC: “Trwy gyflwyno plant i’r wyddoniaeth a’r gyrfaoedd sydd y tu ôl i dechnolegau lled-ddargludyddion, rydym yn dadgyfrinio diwydiant sydd yn aml yn anweledig i’r cyhoedd, er gwaethaf ei rôl hanfodol ym mhopeth o ffonau
Mae 9.4 miliwn o bobl mewn swyddi STEM ar hyn o bryd, ac eto mae llawer o ddiwydiannau’n ei chael hi’n anodd dod o hyd i dalent o Gymru. Mae’r rhaglen wedi’i dylunio’n strategol i gyfrannu at agenda cenedlaethol i ddatblygu gweithlu medrus o Gymru sy’n gallu cwrdd â gofynion economi fyd-eang sy’n esblygu’n gyflym, ynghyd ag annog mwy o ferched, menywod a phobl o gefndiroedd ac ethnigrwydd gwahanol i ymuno â’r diwydiant.
Dywedodd disgybl Blwyddyn 6 nad oedd wedi ystyried STEM o’r blaen yn dilyn ein gweithdy “Cyflwyniad i STEM a Lled-ddargludyddion”: “Rwyf eisiau dyfeisio rhywbeth sy’n helpu’r blaned. Nid oeddwn yn meddwl bod gwyddoniaeth i mi, ond nawr rwyf eisiau gwneud mwy.”
Mae peirianwyr a staff o Vishay yn helpu i gyflwyno sesiynau ar y cyd, yn rhoi cipolwg ar yrfaoedd lled-ddargludyddion, ac yn cynnig mentora a phrofiad o’r diwydiant i ddisgyblion ac athrawon fel ei gilydd. Cysylltodd Ffair STEM y Dreigiau yn ddiweddar ddysgwyr â gweithwyr proffesiynol o Brifysgol Abertawe, Bute Energy, y Llynges Frenhinol a Rhaglen Brentisiaethau Undeb Rygbi Cymru.
